Techcrunch covered the launch of a new feature on Redfin that allows home sellers to test price of their homes before formally releasing them on the market. The “technology-powered real-estate brokerage” enable homeowners to provide their local Redfin agent with the desired price and home address, and get immediate feedback from up to 250 active buyers in their area. The number of "looks" and expressions of interest help inform both the seller and the real estate agent.
Homeowners do not have to list with Redfin in order to access the Price Whisperer tool, but they get better analytics if they do. Interior and exterior photos are provided to would-be buyers, but the specific location is hidden until the property is officially listed for-sale.
